Morning Sessions | Auditorium

Our morning sessions have been arranged to provide the attendees, our star advocates, information about the CareerTech system. 

8:45 am | History of CareerTech

Attendees will hear from Dr. Tom Friedemann, former Francis Tuttle Technology Center Superintendent. Dr. Friedemann will provide information about the formation of the Oklahoma CareerTech system. This is a highly sought after topic and the information presented will be helpful as we continue to protect our nationally recognized CareerTech system.

10:00 am| Overview of CareerTech System

Dr. Doug Major, Superintendent with Meridian Technology Center, will share the Overview of the CareerTech System. Dr. Major will dive into a presentation that our superintendents utilize to educate our elected officials on the Oklahoma CareerTech system.

11:00 am| Legislative Agenda & Appropriations Request

Skye McNiel, Executive Director of OkACTE, will partner with Brent Haken, State Director,  and Dr. Lee Denney, Interim Chief of Staff  with the Oklahoma Department of CareerTech to explain the Legislative Agenda and Appropriations Request.

11:30 am| Lobbying 101

Skye McNiel, lead Oklahoma CareerTech Lobbyist will team up with fellow lobbyist Megan Benn on the Lobbying 101 session. Learn about the roles and responsibilities of the lobbyist. This session will educate attendees on their responsibility to the Oklahoma CareerTech system and OkACTE members.

1:30 pm | Breakout Sessions

Attendees will have an opportunity to attend 30-minute breakout sessions from 1:30 pm - 2:00pm and then 2:10- 2:40 pm. Each of the following session will be presented twice.
