BENEFITS

The Support Staff Section gives you opportunities to interact with other support professionals to share knowledge and information.  We offer professional development, networking, and an awards program.

• Annual Spring Update -- This one-day meeting is especially for Support Staff.  It offers professional and personal improvement sessions that help you become more productive at work and achieve personal fulfillment.  This is also a great opportunity to network with other support staff from around the state.
• Summer Conference -- This three-day conference is of all employees of the CareerTech system.  You will meet teachers and administrators, as well as other support staff members, from across Oklahoma.  You may attend vendor exhibits, hear outstanding motivational speakers, and participate in many informative sessions.  During the conference, Support Staff Section will have an entire day set aside for their business meeting and individual professional development sessions.
• Mentoring -- New support staff members will have access to seasoned members who will act as their mentors through the sometimes difficult and confusing "getting acquainted" period.  These mentors will be available to answer questions not only about their local site but also about OkACTE, ACTE, and most importantly, the Support Staff Section.
• Outstanding New Professional Award -- This award is given annually to the outstanding member of New and Related Services.   Numerous winners have come from the Support Staff Section.
• Outstanding Support Staff Member Award -- Given annually to an outstanding member of our organization, this prestigious award is for Support Staff Section members only.  It is presented at Summer Conference.
• Leadership Opportunities -- Each year the Support Staff Section elects a new slate of officers and committee members to conduct the business of our organization.  Standing committees of the organization include membership, conference planning, diversity action, legislative, and bylaws.  It takes all members working together to help our organizations reach its full potential.

Summary charges are:

 Thank you for your support of this important membership service.  The Oklahoma ACTE uses this program as an important fundraiser for the association/s expenses and services.  This annual rate ($40.00) is highly competitive for an individual Professional Liability policy.
