- Legislative Representation
One of OkACTE’s major functions is representing the membership before the legislature. The Executive Director works at the Capitol on a daily basis during the legislative session, tracks legislation, educates legislators on career and technology issues, attends meetings and networks with other education organizations.OkACTE is affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) providing career and technology education’s voice in Washington D.C. ACTE is Oklahoma’s link to Capitol Hill on federal legislative issues affecting career and technology education.
- Membership Services
OkACTE Leadership Seminar held annually promoting Leadership Opportunities. The Mutual Benefit Plan (automatic withdrawal form) allows contributors to receive financial help upon the death of a plan member or spouse. OkACTE Members can purchase Professional Liability Insurance for only $40 per year*. The Awards Program recognizes outstanding career and technology educators, teachers, new teachers, new professionals, and business and industry partners. Members of OkACTE can purchase long-term disability insurance and a Cancer Protection Plan from American Fidelity. The Division structure of OkACTE provides members with opportunities for Professional Development. Legal Representation when you purchase Legal Shield through OkACTE. Retirement specialists from AIG/VALIC to assist OkACTE members in planning for retirement.
- Communication
The OkACTE office provides communication to the divisions and relies on division officers to funnel the information to the membership seeking input from their members.Members receive OkACTE’s newsletter four times a year. The newsletter provides timely membership information and the “Legislative Update” written by the OkACTE’s lobbyist.

The Oklahoma ACTE uses this program as an important fundraiser for the association/s expenses and services. This annual rate ($40.00) is highly competitive for an individual Professional Liability policy.
